Inflammation of the membrane covering the white part of eye blocks and the inside of the eyelid s causing redness, itching, burning sensation and tearing.

Causes.

- An injury,
- Allergy,
- Disease: colds, hay fever and other diseases of the respiratory
- Too long exposure to wind, dust and sun,
- Fatigue or long illness
- Eye strain due to job (computer).

It is very important to treat quickly.

• When there is infection, there is an effusion of pus. The morning wake up, the eyelids are stuck. Only the type of infectious conjunctivitis is contagious. It must then consult a physician to effectively treat the infection.
• If your eyes are red, and it does not pass in the day, you should be concerned and seek to not let this irritant conjunctivitis.

Conjunctivitis in a newborn should lead you to consult a doctor immediately: first aid to give the eyes at the birth was not sufficiently effective.

Useful tips.

• Do not rub your eyes. If one of them is infected, you might contaminate the other.
• Before applying the drops, wash your hands thoroughly; wash your eyes with eye lotion type saline.
• Avoid touching the eye with the tip of the bottle.
• After each use, close the bottle and keep it in a clean place.
• Do not compress the same for both eyes.
• If you wear contact lenses, avoid them during treatment. Remember to disinfect them and their case before their use.
• To avoid contaminating your environment, use only the personal linen (towel, washcloth …).
• If multiple family members are met, each must have its own eye drops.
• In summer, keep your eye drops in the refrigerator and, in any case, do not store more than 15 days maximum to avoid a loss of activity.
